A refreshing and fizzy drink inspired by South Africa, perfect for summer days or celebrations. Preparation Time: 30 minutes + 24 hours fermentation
Serving Size: About 1 liter
Ingredients:
- 1 liter of water
- 100 g of fresh ginger
- 100 g of sugar
- Juice of 1 lemon
- 1/4 tsp of yeast
- 1/4 tsp of sea salt
Instructions:
1. Peel and grate the fresh ginger finely.
2. Boil the water in a pot and add the grated ginger, sugar, and sea salt. Stir well until the sugar dissolves.
3. Remove the pot from heat and let the mixture cool to room temperature.
4. Add the lemon juice and yeast to the mixture. Stir gently.
5. Pour the mixture into a clean glass jar and cover the top with a cloth or a loosely fitting lid.
6. Allow the drink to ferment at room temperature for 24 hours.
7. Strain the drink into a bottle and refrigerate. Enjoy chilled!
