A delicious and spicy tomato chutney that combines the sweetness of tomatoes with the flavors of chili, ginger, and garlic. Perfect for pairing with cheeses, burgers, or meat dishes! Preparation Time: 1 hour
Serving Size: About 1 jar (approximately 300 ml)
Ingredients:
- 1 can (400 g) Mutti crushed tomatoes
- 2 garlic cloves
- 1 red chili
- 3 cm piece fresh ginger
- 1 dl sugar
- 1 dl white wine vinegar
- Olive oil
- Salt
- Pepper
Instructions:
1. Remove seeds from the chili and finely chop it.
2. Slice the garlic.
3. Peel and grate the ginger finely.
4. Sauté garlic, chili, and ginger in olive oil in a pot.
5. Add crushed tomatoes, sugar, and white wine vinegar to the pot. Mix well.
6. Allow the mixture to simmer gently for about an hour, stirring occasionally. Be careful not to let it burn on the bottom.
7. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
8. Jar the chutney in sterilized jars and let it cool.
9. Store in the fridge, where the chutney will last for about two weeks.
