This traditional dry cake from mom is easy to make and always delicious. Perfect for coffee tables or celebrations.
Preparation Time: 1 hour
Serving Size: 10-12 slices

Ingredients:

- 200 g butter
- 200 g sugar
- 4 eggs
- 300 g all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1 dl milk
- 1 tsp vanilla sugar
- 100 g chocolate chips or nuts (optional)

Instructions:

1. Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F). Grease and flour a cake pan.
2. Beat the softened butter and sugar until fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
3. In a separate bowl, combine the flour and baking powder. Gradually add the flour mixture alternately with the milk to the batter. Stir in the vanilla sugar.
4. If using chocolate chips or nuts, fold them into the batter until evenly distributed.
5. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.
6. Bake in the middle of the oven for about 45-50 minutes or until the cake is golden brown and cooked through. Check doneness with a skewer; it should come out clean.
7. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before turning it out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
