Mozzarella Salad

A refreshing and delicious salad, perfect for serving with grilled dishes or wine. Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Serving Size: 4
Ingredients:
- 1 head of Romaine or frisée lettuce- 2 balls of mozzarella (total 250 g)
- 2 large tomatoes
- 5 cherry tomatoes
- 1/2 - 1 sweet onion
- Fresh basil leaves
- Good quality extra virgin olive oil
- Balsamic vinegar
- Salt
- Sugar
- Black pepper
Instructions:
1. Arrange the lettuce leaves as a bed on a serving plate.2. Cut the mozzarella balls in half and slice them into crescent-shaped pieces.
3. Halve the large tomatoes and slice them into crescent shapes as well.
4. Slice the onion into half rings and chop the cherry tomatoes.
5. Alternate and layer the tomato and mozzarella slices decoratively on the lettuce bed. Sprinkle onion rings and cherry tomato slices on top. Garnish with basil leaves.
6. Season the salad. Drizzle olive oil and balsamic vinegar over it in a thin stream. Sprinkle a little sugar, sea salt, and black pepper on top. Alternatively, you can mix these ingredients together first and then drizzle the dressing over the salad.
7. Allow the salad to marinate in the refrigerator for at least one hour before serving.
