Ingredients:
- 500 g all-purpose flour
- 300 ml water
- 10 g salt
- 7 g dry yeast
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions:
1. In a bowl, mix the dry yeast, sugar, and 100 ml of warm water. Let it rest for about 10 minutes until it starts to bubble.
2. Add the remaining water, salt, and olive oil to the bowl. Mix well.
3. Gradually add the all-purpose flour and mix the dough by hand or with dough hooks until it becomes elastic.
4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
5. Place the dough in an oiled bowl and cover with a cloth. Let it rise in a warm place for about 1-2 hours or until it doubles in size.
6. Gently knead the dough again and shape it into a loaf. Place the bread on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
7. Cover the bread with a cloth and let it rise for another 30-45 minutes.
8. Preheat the oven to 220°C (428°F).
9. Make slashes on the surface of the loaf and bake in the oven for about 25-30 minutes until golden brown and it sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
10. Let the bread cool on a rack before slicing.
