Sweet mini versions of traditional Finnish laskiaispullat, perfect for your coffee table. These little treats are easy to make and taste delicious! Preparation Time: 1 hour + rising time
Serving Size: 20 mini buns or 18 regular buns
Ingredients
- Dough:- 5 dl milk
- 2 dl sugar
- 1 tbsp cardamom
- A pinch of salt
- 1 egg
- 14-15 dl all-purpose flour
- 2 packets dry yeast
- 200 g butter
- Filling:
- 4 dl whipped cream
- 1 dl powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla sugar
- Strawberry jam or almond paste
Instructions
1. Measure about 42°C milk, sugar, cardamom, salt, and the egg into a bowl and mix well.2. Add 12 dl of flour and the dry yeast to the mixture and start kneading.
3. Gradually incorporate the softened butter and the remaining flour. Knead the dough vigorously for about 5 minutes until it pulls away from the sides of the bowl and feels elastic.
4. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface, cover with a towel, and let it rise for about 30 minutes.
5. Weigh out 25 g pieces of dough, roll them into buns, and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. You can also make regular buns of about 60 g each.
6. Let the buns rise again under a towel, brush with egg wash, and sprinkle with pearl sugar.
7. Bake mini buns at 225°C for about 10 minutes and regular buns for 12-15 minutes.
8. Once cooled, slice the buns and fill them with jam or almond paste and whipped cream.
