A perfect addition to homemade sausages, these soft and delicious pita breads are easy to make. Preparation time is about 1 hour, yielding 6-8 pita breads.
Ingredients:
- 500 g all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp sugar
- 2 tsp dry yeast
- 200 ml warm water
- 2 tbsp olive oil
Instructions:
1. In a bowl, mix the flour, salt, sugar, and dry yeast.
2. Add warm water and olive oil to the flour mixture.
3. Knead the dough for about 10 minutes until it is smooth and elastic.
4. Cover the dough with a cloth and let it rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes.
5. Divide the dough into 6-8 pieces and roll each piece into a ball. Flatten each ball into a round bread shape.
6. Preheat the oven to 250°C (482°F) and place a baking sheet lined with parchment paper on the top rack.
7. Bake the pita breads in the oven for about 5-7 minutes until they puff up and turn a beautiful golden brown.
8. Remove the breads from the oven and cover them with a cloth to keep them soft.
