Serving Size: 4 people
Ingredients:
- 1 cup sushi rice- 1 cup water
- 3 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 4 sheets nori
- 3.5 oz salmon (sashimi cut)
- 3.5 oz cucumber (julienned)
- 3.5 oz avocado (julienned)
- Soy sauce for serving
- Wasabi and pickled ginger (optional)
Instructions:
1. Rinse the sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Drain well.2. Place the rice and water in a pot. Bring to a boil, cover, and reduce the heat. Let it cook for 15 minutes.
3. Remove the pot from heat and let the rice sit covered for another 10 minutes.
4. In a small bowl, mix the rice vinegar, sugar, and salt until the sugar dissolves. Gently fold this mixture into the cooked rice.
5. Slice the salmon, cucumber, and avocado into thin strips.
6. Lay a sheet of nori on a bamboo mat and spread a thin layer of rice on top, leaving about 2 cm at the top edge.
7. Place the strips of salmon, cucumber, and avocado on top of the rice.
8. Roll the sushi tightly using the bamboo mat. Moisten the top edge with water to seal the roll.
9. Slice the roll into pieces with a sharp knife.
10. Serve with soy sauce, wasabi, and pickled ginger.
