Delicious Asian meatballs garnished with sesame seeds, served in a sticky sauce. Perfect for celebrations or simply indulging.
Preparation Time: 2 hours (includes chilling)
Serving Size: 4-6 servings
Ingredients:
- 800 g ground beef and pork
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 2.5 dl panko breadcrumbs (or regular breadcrumbs)
- 1 tsp ground ginger (or fresh)
- 2 eggs
- 3 tsp grated garlic
- 1 dl chopped chives
- 1 tsp salt
- 1.5 dl hoisin sauce
- 0.5 dl rice vinegar
- 2 cloves grated garlic
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp ground ginger
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- Chopped green onions for garnish
- Sesame seeds for garnish
Instructions:
1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef and pork, sesame oil, panko breadcrumbs, ground ginger, eggs, grated garlic, chopped chives, and salt. Mix well and let chill in the refrigerator for about an hour.
2. Shape the mixture into small meatballs.
3. Bake the meatballs in a preheated oven at 200°C (400°F) for about 8 minutes, or until cooked through.
4. In a saucepan, combine hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, grated garlic, soy sauce, ground ginger, and sesame oil. Heat gently to blend the flavors.
5. Pour the warm sauce over the cooked meatballs and garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds.
