A hearty and flavorful sausage sauce perfect for serving over rice or potatoes.
Preparation Time: 30 minutes
Serving Size: 4 servings
Ingredients:
- 400 g sausage (e.g., beef or pork sausage)
- 1 onion
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 bell pepper
- 400 g crushed tomatoes
- 2 dl vegetable broth
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley (for garnish)
Instructions:
1. Peel and chop the onion and garlic.
2. Peel and chop the bell pepper.
3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
4. Add the onion and garlic, sauté until softened.
5. Add the chopped bell pepper and continue cooking for a few minutes.
6. Slice the sausage and add to the pan, cooking until browned.
7. Stir in the crushed tomatoes, vegetable broth, and oregano. Mix well.
8. Let the sauce simmer on low heat for about 15-20 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
9. Serve the sauce over cooked rice or potatoes and garnish with fresh parsley.
