Ingredients:

- 200 g dark chocolate
- 150 g butter
- 250 g sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 120 g all-purpose flour
- 30 g cocoa powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 100 g nuts (optional)

Instructions:

1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease and flour a square baking pan (about 20x20 cm).
2. In a saucepan over low heat, melt the dark chocolate and butter together, stirring until smooth.
3. Remove the saucepan from heat and add the sugar, mixing well.
4. Add the eggs one at a time, stirring after each addition. Then add the vanilla extract.
5. Sift in the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Stir until all ingredients are well combined. If using, fold in the nuts.
6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
7. Bake in the oven for about 20-25 minutes. The brownies should be slightly moist in the center.
8. Allow to cool before cutting into pieces.
