Ingredients
- 200 g butter, chopped - 300 g chocolate (dark or light)
- 280 g light muscovado sugar
- 4 tbsp milk
- 4 large eggs
- 180 g all-purpose flour
- 100 g nuts (e.g., walnuts, if desired)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp salt
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). 2. Melt the butter and chocolate together in a saucepan over low heat. Stir until the mixture is smooth.
3. Add the muscovado sugar and milk to the melted butter mixture. Mix well.
4. Add the eggs one at a time, stirring after each addition until the batter is smooth.
5. Stir in the vanilla extract, salt, and flour. Mix gently until the ingredients are just combined.
6. If using, fold in the nuts lightly.
7. Pour the batter into a baking tray lined with parchment paper and smooth the top.
8. Bake in the oven for about 25-30 minutes or until the top is set but the center is still slightly moist.
9. Allow to cool before cutting into pieces and serve.
