Ingredients:
- 2 cups cooked chickpeas (canned or boiled)
- 1 cup oats
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, crushed
- 1 carrot, grated
- 1 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1 egg (optional)
- Oil for frying
Instructions:
1. Rinse the chickpeas and drain them well. Season with salt, black pepper, and paprika.
2. Mash the chickpeas and oats in a bowl until the mixture is fairly smooth.
3. Add the onion, garlic, carrot, and parsley to the mixture. Mix well.
4. If using, add the egg and combine until all ingredients are well blended.
5. Shape the mixture into evenly sized patties.
6. Heat a little oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fry the patties for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
7. Serve the patties with a salad or on bread.
