Perfect Meatballs and Sauce

Preparation Time: 30 minutes Serving Size: 4 servings
Ingredients:
- 500 g ground beef (or a mix)
- 1 dl breadcrumbs
- 1 dl milk
- 1 egg
- 1 onion (finely chopped)
- 2 garlic cloves (finely chopped)
- 1 tsp salt
- 0.5 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley (chopped, optional)
For the Sauce:
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 5 dl beef broth
- 1 dl cream
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
1. In a bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, onion, garlic, salt, black pepper, and oregano. Mix by hand until well combined.
2. Shape the mixture into small meatballs.
3. Heat a frying pan and add a little oil. Fry the meatballs until golden brown on all sides.
4. Remove the meatballs from the pan and set aside.
5. In the same pan, melt the butter. Add the flour and stir well.
6. Gradually add the beef broth while stirring to create a smooth sauce.
7. Stir in the cream and heat the sauce. Season with salt and pepper.
8. Add the meatballs back into the sauce and simmer on low heat for about 10-15 minutes.
9. Serve the meatballs warm, accompanied by mashed potatoes or pasta.
