Ingredients:
- 800 g potatoes
- 200 ml cream
- 100 ml milk
- 2 garlic cloves
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 100 g cheese (e.g., Emmental or mozzarella)
- Butter for greasing the dish
Instructions:
1. Peel and slice the potatoes thinly.
2. Peel and finely chop the garlic.
3. Grease a baking dish with butter.
4. Layer half of the potato slices in the dish and add half of the garlic.
5. Sprinkle salt and black pepper over the potatoes.
6. Add the remaining potato slices and garlic on top.
7. Mix the cream and milk, then pour the mixture over the potatoes.
8. Grate the cheese and sprinkle it on top.
9. Cover the dish with foil and bake at 180°C (350°F) for about 40 minutes.
10. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, until the top is beautifully golden brown.
11. Let it cool slightly before serving.
