A delicious and hearty meat and potato casserole that's easy to prepare, perfect for feeding the whole family. Preparation Time: 1 hour
Serving Size: 4 servings
Ingredients:
- 400 g ground beef
- 1 onion
- 600 g potatoes
- 3 dl milk
- 2 dl cream
- 2 eggs
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Butter for frying
- (optional) Grated cheese for topping
Instructions:
1. Peel and slice the potatoes into thin rounds.
2. Finely chop the onion and sauté it in butter until translucent.
3. Add the ground beef to the onion and cook until browned. Season with salt and pepper.
4. Grease a baking dish and layer half of the potato slices at the bottom.
5. Spread the beef and onion mixture over the potatoes, then add the remaining potato slices on top.
6. In a bowl, mix together the milk, cream, and eggs. Season the mixture with salt and pepper.
7. Pour the milk mixture over the potatoes in the baking dish.
8. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C for about 40-50 minutes, until the potatoes are tender and the top is golden brown. If desired, add grated cheese during the last few minutes of baking.
9. Allow to rest for a moment before serving.
