Ingredients

- 2 3/4 cups milk
- 3 tablespoons butter or margarine
- 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 5.3 oz light shredded cheese
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2.2 lbs potatoes (peeled and sliced)
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
2. Melt the butter in a saucepan and add the flour. Cook for a moment.
3. Gradually add the milk while stirring continuously until the mixture thickens.
4. Add the heavy cream, shredded cheese, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
5. Grease a baking dish. Layer the potato slices in the dish.
6. Pour the cheese sauce over the potatoes, ensuring they are completely covered.
7. Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese on top of the gratin.
8. Bake in the oven for about 45-50 minutes, until the potatoes are tender and the top is a nice golden brown.
9. Let it sit for a moment before serving.
