A simple and flavorful Italian pasta dish made with garlic, olive oil, and red pepper flakes. Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Serving Size: 2 servings
Recipe:
- 200g spaghetti - 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 60ml extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Cook the spaghetti in a large pot of salted boiling water according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve ½ cup of pasta water and then drain the spaghetti. 2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and sauté until golden brown, about 2 minutes.
3. Add the red pepper flakes and sauté for an additional 30 seconds.
4. Toss the cooked spaghetti in the skillet with the garlic oil, adding reserved pasta water as needed to help coat the pasta.
5. Season with salt to taste and mix well.
6. Serve hot, garnished with chopped parsley and grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
