A tasty vegetarian alternative to meat, these patties are easy and quick to prepare, perfect for both everyday meals and special occasions. Preparation Time: 30 minutes
Serving Size: 4 patties
Ingredients:
- 1 cup cooked chickpeas - 1/2 cup rolled oats
- 1 carrot, grated
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, crushed
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon paprika powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon chili powder (optional)
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions:
1. Heat the olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and crushed garlic, sautéing until they become soft. 2. In a bowl, combine the chickpeas, rolled oats, grated carrot, sautéed onion and garlic, spices, and parsley.
3. Mash the mixture with a fork or potato masher until well combined but not completely smooth.
4. Shape the mixture into four patties and cook them in the pan over medium heat for about 5-7 minutes on each side, until they are golden brown.
5. Serve warm with salad or bread.
