Spaghetti Aglio e Olio
Spaghetti Aglio e Olio
recipe
A classic Italian pasta dish made with garlic, olive oil, and a hint of red pepper flakes. Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Serving Size: 4 servings
Ingredients:
- 400g spaghetti - 6 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- ½ cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1 tsp red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the spaghetti. 2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and sauté until golden and fragrant, about 2-3 minutes. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
3. Add the red pepper flakes and cook for another minute.
4. Toss the drained spaghetti into the skillet, mixing well to coat the pasta with the garlic oil. If the pasta seems dry, add a bit of the reserved pasta water.
5. Season with salt to taste and mix in the chopped parsley.
6. Serve immediately, garnished with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
