Karjalanpaisti (Karelian Stew)

A traditional Finnish meat dish that simmers slowly in the oven, perfect for cozy winter days. Preparation Time: 2 hours
Serving Size: 4-6 people
Ingredients:
- 200 g rutabaga, diced
- 200 g yellow onion, chopped
- 200 g carrots, thickly sliced with skin
- 300 g yellow onion, chopped
- About 1 tablespoon of allspice (about 30 pieces)
- 1 tablespoon of fine sea salt
- 4 large bay leaves
- Water
Instructions:
1. Place all ingredients into a baking dish.
2. Add enough water to cover the meat.
3. Bake at 250°C (482°F) uncovered for 30 minutes.
4. Stir the ingredients and lower the temperature to 150°C (302°F).
5. Continue cooking in the oven for about 1.5 hours until the meat is tender.
