A traditional Finnish dish that is slow-cooked in the oven, perfect for the weekend!
Preparation Time: 3 hours
Serving Size: 6-8 servings

Ingredients:

- 1 kg beef (e.g., chuck)
- 1 kg pork (e.g., shoulder)
- 4-5 potatoes
- 3-4 carrots
- 2 onions
- 1 liter of water
- 2-3 bay leaves
- 10-15 black peppercorns
- Salt to taste
- 2 tablespoons butter or oil

Instructions:

1. Cut the meats into bite-sized pieces and brown them in a pan with butter or oil.
2. Peel and chop the potatoes, carrots, and onions.
3. Place the browned meats at the bottom of a baking dish.
4. Add the chopped vegetables on top of the meat.
5. Pour the water into the dish and season with bay leaves, pepper, and salt.
6. Cover the dish with a lid or aluminum foil.
7. Bake in the oven at 150°C (300°F) for about 2.5 to 3 hours, until the meat is tender.
8. Serve with mashed potatoes or rye bread.
