A traditional Finnish meat stew where meat and vegetables simmer together into a juicy delicacy. Perfect for winter, and it tastes even better the next day.
Preparation Time: 2 hours
Serving Size: 6-8 servings

Ingredients:

- 800 g beef stew meat
- 2 onions
- 3 carrots
- 500 g parsnips
- 3 celery stalks
- 300 g rutabaga
- 2 pickles, sliced
- 1 tsp allspice
- 2 tsp salt
- 150 g boiled potatoes
- 2 bay leaves
- 3 dl sweetened lingonberry mash
- Water

Instructions:

1. Peel and chop the rutabaga, onions, parsnips, celery, and carrots.
2. Layer the meat and vegetable pieces in a pot or casserole dish.
3. Add the allspice, salt, bay leaves, and sliced pickles.
4. Pour in enough water to cover the ingredients.
5. Bake in the oven at 175°C (350°F) for about 2 hours, or until the meat is tender.
6. Serve with boiled potatoes and sweetened lingonberry mash.
