Deliciously crispy fried fish combined with spicy chili, fresh salsa, lettuce, and a zesty sauce. Perfect for a weekend dinner or gathering with friends. Preparation time: 30 minutes
Serving size: 4 servings
Ingredients:
- 400 g white fish (e.g., cod or perch) - 1 dl flour
- 1 dl cornmeal
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1 dl water
- 8 small tortillas
- 1 dl fresh lettuce (e.g., iceberg)
- 1 dl salsa
- 1/2 dl hot sauce (e.g., sriracha)
Instructions:
1. Cut the fish into portion-sized pieces. 2. In a bowl, mix flour, cornmeal, salt, black pepper, chili powder, and paprika.
3. Add water to the dry mixture and stir until the batter is smooth.
4. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
5. Dip the fish pieces into the batter and fry them in the pan until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side.
6. Remove the fish from the pan and drain excess oil on paper towels.
7. Warm the tortillas lightly in the pan or microwave.
8. Fill the tortillas with crispy fish, lettuce, salsa, and hot sauce.
9. Serve immediately and enjoy!
