Spaghetti Aglio e Olio
recipe

A classic Italian pasta dish made with garlic, olive oil, and red pepper flakes. Simple yet flavorful!
Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Serving Size: 2 servings
Ingredients:
- 200g spaghetti
- 4 cloves of garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain the spaghetti.
2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and sauté until it turns golden brown, about 2-3 minutes. Be careful not to burn it.
3. Stir in the red pepper flakes and cook for another 30 seconds.
4. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet, tossing it with the garlic oil. If the pasta seems dry, add a little reserved pasta water.
5. Season with salt to taste and toss in chopped parsley.
6. Serve immediately, garnished with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
