Ingredients:
- 200g spaghetti
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon red chili flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a pot of salted water to a boil and cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain the spaghetti.
2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and sauté until golden brown, about 1-2 minutes. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
3. Add the red chili flakes and sauté for another 30 seconds.
4. Toss the drained spaghetti into the skillet, adding a splash of the reserved pasta water to help combine. Stir well to coat the spaghetti with the garlic oil.
5. Season with salt to taste and mix in the chopped parsley.
6. Serve immediately, topped with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
