Ingredients
- 1 kg potatoes - 2 dl water
- 2 dl milk
- 1 dl syrup
- 1 dl sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp nutmeg
- 50 g butter
Instructions
1. Peel and chop the potatoes. Boil them in salted water until they are soft. 2. Drain the potatoes and mash them into a smooth puree.
3. Add milk, syrup, sugar, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg to the potato mixture. Mix well.
4. Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish.
5. Dot the top with small pieces of butter.
6. Cover the dish with foil and bake at 175°C (350°F) for about 1 hour. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 30 minutes until the top is beautifully golden brown.
7. Let the casserole rest before serving.
