A traditional Finnish delicacy where potatoes sweeten and flavor deepens in the oven. Preparation Time: 3 hours (includes sweetening time)
Serving Size: 6-8 servings
Ingredients:
- 1 kg potatoes
- 2 dl wheat flour
- 4 dl milk
- 1 tsp mineral salt
- ½ tsp nutmeg
Instructions:
1. Boil the potatoes and peel them after steaming.
2. Mash the potatoes and mix in the flour.
3. Leave the mashed potatoes covered in a warm place to sweeten for several hours, stirring a few times during the sweetening process.
4. Add the milk and season the mixture with mineral salt and nutmeg.
5. Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish.
6. Bake the sweetened potato casserole at 150°C (300°F) for about two hours.
