A festive treat that brings the spirit of Christmas to your home. These spicy, crispy cookies are perfect for gifting or serving at your holiday table. Preparation time is about 1 hour, and this recipe makes approximately 30 cookies.Ingredients:
- 200 g butter
- 1 dl sugar
- 1 dl syrup
- 2 tsp cinnamon
- 2 tsp ginger
- 1 tsp cloves
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 dl cream cheese
- 7 dl all-purpose flour
Instructions:
1. Melt the butter in a saucepan and add the sugar and syrup. Heat the mixture over low heat until the sugar is dissolved.
2. Remove the saucepan from the heat and add the spices and baking soda. Mix well.
3. Allow the mixture to cool slightly, then add the cream cheese. Stir until smooth.
4. Gradually add the flour to the dough until it is elastic and easy to handle.
5. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for about 30 minutes.
6. Roll out the dough to about 0.5 cm thick and cut into desired shapes.
7. Bake the cookies at 175°C (350°F) for about 8-10 minutes or until golden brown.
8. Let cool before serving or decorating.
