Traditional gingerbread cookies that bring the Christmas spirit to your kitchen. An easy and delicious recipe that takes about 1 hour to prepare. Preparation Time: 1 hour
Serving Size: Makes approximately 40 cookies
Ingredients:
- 1.5 dl syrup - 200 g sugar
- 250 g butter
- 2 tsp cinnamon
- 2 tsp ginger
- 2 tsp cloves
- 1.5 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 dl cream
- 1.5 kg all-purpose flour
Instructions:
1. Melt the butter in a saucepan and add the syrup and sugar. Heat the mixture until the sugar is completely dissolved. 2. Remove the saucepan from heat and add the spices (cinnamon, ginger, cloves) and salt. Mix well.
3. Add the cream and stir until smooth.
4. In a separate bowl, combine the flour and baking soda. Gradually add the flour mixture to the dough until well mixed.
5. Cover the dough with plastic wrap and let it rest in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
6. Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F).
7. Roll out the dough to about 5 mm thick and cut into desired cookie shapes.
8. Bake the gingerbread cookies in the oven for about 8-10 minutes, until golden brown.
9. Allow to cool before decorating.
