Ingredients:
- 800 g potatoes
- 200 ml heavy cream
- 100 ml milk
- 2 garlic cloves
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 100 g grated cheese (e.g., Emmental or mozzarella)
- Butter for greasing the dish
Instructions:
1. Peel and slice the potatoes into thin slices.
2. Peel and finely chop the garlic.
3. Grease a baking dish with butter and layer the potato slices in the dish.
4. In a bowl, mix the cream, milk, salt, black pepper, and garlic. Pour the mixture over the potatoes.
5. Sprinkle the grated cheese on top of the potatoes.
6. Cover the dish with foil and bake at 180°C (350°F) for about 40 minutes.
7. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until the top is golden brown.
8. Let it cool slightly before serving.
