Ingredients:
- 400g spaghetti
- 6 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Cook the spaghetti in a large pot of salted boiling water according to the package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta.
2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and sauté until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes.
3. Add the red pepper flakes and cook for an additional 30 seconds.
4. Toss the cooked spaghetti into the skillet with the garlic oil, adding reserved pasta water a little at a time until you reach your desired sauce consistency.
5. Season with salt to taste and garnish with chopped parsley.
6. Serve immediately, with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
