Ingredients:
- 1 kg beef tongue
- 2 liters water
- 2 carrots, chopped
- 1 celery stalk, chopped
- 1 onion, quartered
- 2 bay leaves
- 5 black peppercorns
- Salt to taste
Instructions:
1. Rinse the beef tongue under cold water and place it in a large pot.
2. Add water, carrots, celery, onion, bay leaves, black peppercorns, and salt to the pot.
3. Bring the water to a boil, then reduce the heat. Let it simmer on low for about 1.5 to 2 hours, until the tongue is tender.
4. Remove the tongue from the pot and allow it to cool slightly. Carefully peel off the outer skin.
5. Slice the cooked tongue and serve with your choice of side dishes.
