A delicious pizza made from thick dough and baked in a rectangular shape, perfect for a cottage getaway or a weekend treat. Preparation Time: 1 hour + rising time 2-3 hours
Serving Size: 4-6 servings
Ingredients:
- 500 g pizza flour- 300 ml warm water
- 10 g salt
- 7 g dry yeast
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 200 g tomato sauce
- 250 g mozzarella cheese
- 100 g pepperoni (or other desired toppings)
- Fresh basil for garnish
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
1. In a bowl, mix the dry yeast with warm water and let it sit for about 10 minutes.2. Add the pizza flour and salt to the water mixture, and stir until it forms a dough.
3. Add olive oil and knead the dough for about 10 minutes until smooth.
4. Cover the dough bowl with a cloth and let it rise in a warm place for 2-3 hours, until doubled in size.
5. Grease a rectangular baking sheet with olive oil.
6. Spread the risen dough onto the baking sheet and stretch it out evenly.
7. Spread the tomato sauce over the dough.
8. Top with mozzarella cheese and pepperoni.
9. Bake in a preheated oven at 220°C (428°F) for about 20-25 minutes, until the top is beautifully golden brown.
10. Allow to cool slightly, cut into pieces, and garnish with fresh basil. Serve warm.
