Ingredients
Meatballs: - 480 g raw grill sausage
- 1 egg
- 1 1/2 tsp curry powder
- 1/2 fresh chili (deseeded and diced)
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg
- 1 onion (finely chopped)
- 1 garlic clove (crushed)
- A handful of parsley (chopped)
- 1 1/2 dl breadcrumbs (for coating)
- 1 l oil (for frying)
Sauce:
- 1 tbsp oil
- 1 onion (very finely chopped)
- 2 dl crushed tomatoes
- 50 g tomato paste
- 1 tsp curry powder
- 2 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp paprika powder
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- Black pepper (to taste)
Instructions
1. Mix all the meatball ingredients together, except for the breadcrumbs. 2. Shape the mixture into small balls and coat them in breadcrumbs.
3. Heat oil in a heavy-bottomed pot to about 180°C (356°F). Fry the meatballs until golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towels.
4. For the sauce, sauté the finely chopped onion in oil until soft. Add the spices, followed by the crushed tomatoes and tomato paste. Simmer the sauce for about 15 minutes and let it cool.
5. Blend the sauce until smooth and serve warm with the meatballs.
