Creamy potato bake is a rich and flavorful oven dish, perfect as a side or main course. Preparation Time: 1 hour

Ingredients:
- 800 g potatoes - 2 dl cream
- 1 dl milk
- 2 garlic cloves
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg
- 100 g grated cheese (e.g., Emmental or Gouda)
- Fresh herbs (e.g., parsley or thyme)
Instructions:
1. Peel and slice the potatoes into thin rounds. 2. Peel and finely chop the garlic cloves.
3. In a saucepan, heat the cream and milk, then add the garlic, salt, black pepper, and nutmeg. Warm the mixture but do not let it boil.
4. Grease a baking dish and layer the potato slices in it.
5. Pour the cream mixture over the potatoes, ensuring they are covered.
6. Sprinkle grated cheese over the top of the potatoes.
7. Cover the dish with foil and bake at 180°C (350°F) for about 40 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until the top is golden brown.
8. Allow to cool slightly before serving. Garnish with fresh herbs.
