Spaghetti Aglio e Olio

Spaghetti Aglio e Olio
recipe
A classic Italian pasta dish that's quick to make, featuring garlic, olive oil, and chili flakes. Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Serving Size: 2 servings
Ingredients:
- 200g spaghetti
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 60ml extra virgin olive oil
- 1 tsp red chili flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente.
2. While the pasta is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
3. Add the sliced garlic to the skillet and sauté until golden brown, being careful not to burn it.
4. Stir in the red chili flakes and cook for an additional minute.
5. Once the spaghetti is done, reserve about 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta.
6. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet with the garlic and oil. Toss well to combine, adding a little reserved pasta water if necessary to help coat the pasta.
7. Season with salt to taste and remove from heat.
8. Serve immediately, garnished with fresh parsley and grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
