Ingredients:
- 12 oz spaghetti - 6 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup extra-virgin olive oil
- 1 tsp red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
- Salt, to taste
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the spaghetti. 2. In a large skillet over medium heat, add the olive oil. Once hot, add the sliced garlic and red pepper flakes. Sauté until the garlic is golden and fragrant, about 2 minutes.
3. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet and toss to combine with the garlic oil. If the pasta seems dry, add some reserved pasta water a little at a time until you reach the desired consistency.
4. Season with salt and stir in the chopped parsley.
5. Serve immediately, topped with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
