Ingredients:
- 200g spaghetti
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain the spaghetti.
2. In a large pan over medium heat, add the olive oil and sliced garlic. Sauté the garlic until golden and fragrant, about 2-3 minutes. Be careful not to burn it.
3. Add the red pepper flakes to the pan and cook for an additional 30 seconds.
4. Add the drained spaghetti to the pan along with the reserved pasta water. Toss everything together to combine, making sure the spaghetti is well coated with the oil and garlic mixture.
5. Season with salt to taste and remove from heat.
6. Serve immediately, garnished with fresh parsley and grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
