Classic Spaghetti Aglio e Olio

A simple and flavorful Italian pasta dish made with garlic, olive oil, and chili flakes. Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Serving Size: 4 servings
Ingredients:
- 400g spaghetti - 6 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water and then drain the spaghetti. 2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add sliced garlic and sauté until golden brown, being careful not to burn it.
3. Stir in red pepper flakes and cook for another minute.
4. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet and toss to coat in the garlic oil. If the pasta seems dry, add reserved pasta water a little at a time until you achieve the desired consistency.
5. Season with salt to taste.
6. Remove from heat and stir in chopped parsley.
7. Serve immediately, topped with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
