Classic Spaghetti Aglio e Olio

Classic Spaghetti Aglio e Olio
recipe
A simple yet flavorful Italian pasta dish made with garlic, olive oil, and chili flakes. Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Serving Size: 2 servings
Ingredients:
- Spaghetti (200g)
- Olive oil (4 tablespoons)
- Garlic (4 cloves, thinly sliced)
- Red chili flakes (1 teaspoon)
- Fresh parsley (a small bunch, chopped)
- Salt (to taste)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional, for serving)
Instructions:
1. In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water and drain the rest.
2. While the pasta cooks, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
3. Add sliced garlic to the skillet and sauté until golden brown, about 2 minutes. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
4. Stir in red chili flakes and cook for an additional 30 seconds.
5. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet, tossing to coat in the garlic oil. If the pasta seems dry, add a little reserved pasta water to reach desired consistency.
6. Stir in chopped parsley and season with salt to taste.
7. Serve hot, topped with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
