Ingredients:
- 400g spaghetti
- 6 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 100ml extra-virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon red chili flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente.
2. While the pasta cooks, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
3. Add the sliced garlic to the skillet and sauté until golden brown, about 2 minutes. Be careful not to burn it.
4. Stir in the red chili flakes and cook for an additional 30 seconds.
5. Once the spaghetti is cooked, reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta.
6. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet and toss to combine with the garlic oil.
7. If needed, add some reserved pasta water to achieve desired consistency. Season with salt to taste.
8. Remove from heat and garnish with chopped parsley and grated Parmesan cheese, if desired.
9. Serve immediately while hot.
