A simple yet flavorful Italian pasta dish made with garlic and olive oil.

Ingredients:
- 200g spaghetti
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the spaghetti according to the package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water and then drain the spaghetti.
2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and sauté until it turns golden, about 2-3 minutes. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
3. Stir in the red pepper flakes and cook for an additional 30 seconds.
4. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet, tossing to coat the pasta with the garlic oil. If the pasta seems dry, add a little reserved pasta water to reach the desired consistency.
5. Season with salt to taste and toss in fresh parsley.
6. Serve hot, garnished with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
