Classic Spaghetti Aglio e Olio

Classic Spaghetti Aglio e Olio
recipe
A simple yet flavorful Italian pasta dish made with garlic, olive oil, and red pepper flakes. Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Serving Size: 2
Ingredients:
- 200g spaghetti
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 60ml extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente.
2. While the pasta is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
3. Add the sliced garlic to the skillet and sauté until it turns golden brown, being careful not to burn it.
4. Stir in the red pepper flakes and cook for an additional 30 seconds.
5. Once the pasta is cooked, reserve about 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the spaghetti.
6. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet with the garlic oil, tossing to combine. If the mixture is too dry, add a little reserved pasta water.
7. Season with salt to taste and toss in the chopped parsley.
8. Serve immediately with grated Parmesan cheese on top, if desired.
