Ingredients:
- 400g spaghetti
- 6 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish
- Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the spaghetti.
2. In a large skillet over medium heat, add the olive oil and garlic slices. Sauté until the garlic is golden and fragrant, about 2 minutes. Be careful not to burn it.
3. Add the red pepper flakes and cook for an additional minute.
4. Toss the drained spaghetti into the skillet, mixing well to coat the pasta in the garlic oil. If the pasta seems dry, add a bit of the reserved pasta water.
5. Season with salt to taste and remove from heat.
6. Serve immediately, garnished with chopped parsley and optional grated Parmesan cheese.
