Classic Spaghetti Aglio e Olio

Classic Spaghetti Aglio e Olio
recipe
A simple yet flavorful Italian pasta dish made with garlic, olive oil, and red pepper flakes. Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Serving Size: 2 servings
Ingredients:
- 200g spaghetti
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 60ml extra-virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain the spaghetti.
2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and cook until it turns golden brown, being careful not to burn it.
3. Add red pepper flakes to the skillet and stir for about 30 seconds to infuse the oil.
4. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet and mix well, ensuring the pasta is coated with the garlic oil. If the pasta seems dry, add a bit of the reserved pasta water.
5. Season with salt to taste. Toss in chopped parsley for freshness.
6. Serve immediately, topped with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
