Classic Spaghetti Aglio e Olio

A simple and flavorful Italian pasta dish with garlic and olive oil. Preparation Time: 20 minutes

Ingredients:
- 200g spaghetti
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 60ml extra virgin olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water.
2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and red pepper flakes, cooking until the garlic is golden brown, about 2-3 minutes.
3. Add the cooked spaghetti to the skillet, tossing to combine with the garlic and oil. If the pasta seems dry, add a little reserved pasta water to reach the desired consistency.
4. Season with salt to taste and garnish with chopped parsley. Serve hot with grated Parmesan cheese, if desired.
