Classic Spaghetti Aglio e Olio

A simple and flavorful Italian pasta dish made with garlic, olive oil, and chili flakes. Preparation Time: 15 minutes
Serving Size: 2 servings
Ingredients:
- 200g spaghetti
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 60ml extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon red chili flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain the spaghetti.
2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and sauté until golden brown, about 2 minutes. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
3. Add the red chili flakes and cook for an additional 30 seconds.
4. Toss the drained spaghetti into the skillet with the garlic oil. Mix well to coat the pasta. If the pasta seems dry, add a little reserved pasta water until the desired consistency is reached.
5. Season with salt to taste and toss in chopped parsley.
6. Serve immediately, with grated Parmesan cheese on top if desired.
