Classic Spaghetti Aglio e Olio

Classic Spaghetti Aglio e Olio
recipe
Description: A simple yet flavorful Italian pasta dish made with garlic, olive oil, and chili flakes. Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Serving Size: 2 servings
Ingredients:
- 200g spaghetti
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 60ml extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the spaghetti.
2. In a large skillet over medium heat, add the olive oil and sliced garlic. Cook until the garlic is golden brown, being careful not to burn it.
3. Add the red pepper flakes to the skillet and stir for about 30 seconds.
4. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet and toss well to coat in the garlic oil. If the pasta seems dry, add a little reserved pasta water to help it along.
5. Season with salt to taste and toss in the chopped parsley.
6. Serve hot, garnished with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
