Classic Spaghetti Aglio e Olio

Ingredients:
- 400g spaghetti - 6 cloves of garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente.2. While the pasta is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and sauté until golden brown, being careful not to burn it.
3. Add the red pepper flakes to the skillet and cook for an additional minute.
4. Once the spaghetti is cooked, reserve 1 cup of pasta water and then drain the pasta.
5. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet with the garlic oil. Toss to combine, adding reserved pasta water a little at a time until desired consistency is reached.
6. Season with salt to taste and mix in the chopped parsley.
7. Serve hot, garnished with extra parsley and grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
